Mountain is about finding power in self love. I have an emotional connection with the mountain behind our house. She gives me lots of feelings, she can be overwhelming, and I often “take her in moderation”. She is grand, ominous and beautiful. Tommy inspired me to write about the mountain, and as I did, I realized that I could compare myself to the mountain and that wouldn’t be vain of me. I’ve battled a lot, I am strong, resilient, and even gorgeous. I’ve been working on being gentler to myself, and reminding myself that I’ve survived a lot and have come out stronger on the other side.
lyrics
V1
I can hear the lion, calling in the dark
Straight across the canyon, staring at my yard
I can see the fire and water raining down
You’re running through the valley, tryna put it out
PRE
You know it’s dangerous
Living in loneliness
I got a cloud for us
Come find me now
Won’t tell em where you’re hiding out
CHORUS
My body is a mountain
Follow me to heaven
My body is a mountain
My body is a mountain
I can be your wilderness
Save you from Los Angeles
My body is a mountain
V2
Echoes on the hillside, creatures in the night
Feel you getting closer, see it in your eyes
We could live forever, immovable and pure
Anything you ask for, tell me and its’ yours
(Won’t tell em where you’re hiding out)
